Best Bike Trails Around Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is known for its bridges and rivers, but it is also home to some wonderful parks and bike trails. With many great ones to choose from for all skill levels, the only question you need to ask is "Where is my bike?" Here's a list of the best bike trails around Pittsburgh.

South Park

South Park has several tree-lined trails, with rolling terrain for all riders.  According to Pro Bikes' website, the single-lane trails off scenic routes for casual riders and more technical trails for experienced riders.  According to West Liberty Cycles' website, "Some good places to start includes a trail that runs behind Splash 'n Skate, the Girl Scout Trail that climbs to the Wave Pool, and The Golf Course trail."

Schenley Park

Located in Oakland, Pro Bikes describes the trails as being comprised of rolling hills that are "perfect for bike riders of all backgrounds." The 456-acre park was created in 1889 and is also home to Phipps Conservatory!

Boyce Park

While there are trails for all skill levels, the advanced riders will take pleasure with Boyce Parks rougher trails. A map of trails will help you find your way and perfect trail, but West Liberty Cycles warns to keep an eye out for hikers and picnickers that frequent the park on weekends.

Frick Park

Frick Park offers ideal trails for all skill levels. With smooth and gentle trails for beginners and steep, technical runs through the park, riders will always have a chance to experience something new. West Liberty Cycles does warn riders to keep your speed in check because of the "many pedestrians and dogs (both leashed and unleashed)."
