Beninati: Holtby Looks Forward To Games Against Penguins

(PITTSBURGH, 93.7 THE FAN)--The Penguins are riding a nine-game winning streak into tonight's game against the Washington Capitals. To discuss the matchup, the Fan Morning Show talked to Caps' play-by-play announcer, Joe Beninati.

Sitting at 12-15, the Capitals are in a very precarious position in terms of the playoff race. But Joe tells us, "they still have hope to sell" because the teams that are ahead of them in the standings have not closed them out.

Alex Ovechkin is nowhere near the player he once was. He has been morphing his game to be more responsible defensively,  which has taken away from the offensive aspect of his game.

Braden Holtby has been one of the few bright spots on the team. However, the success has not been tied into his games against the Penguins this season.

"He looks forward to all these showdowns with the Penguins, with all of that firepower," Beninati said.

We also hear his thoughts on the addition of Adam Oates as head coach, and how the team has adapted to the new boss.
