Ben Roethlisberger Show: Ravens Week Is A Taxing Task
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - It is a victorious edition of the #1 Cochran Ben Roethlisberger Show, and to celebrate, the Steelers' quarterback drops by in studio with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.
Roethlisberger reports that the locker room was excited after finally notching its first win of the year.
"It really felt good," he said. "Hopefully, the winning is contagious. Hopefully, the attitude carries over. Right now, we're not sitting here thinking about the win on Sunday. Right now, we're moving forward."
Of all the things Ben liked from the game, he did not like Emmanuel Sanders' decision to celebrate his touchdown with a front flip into the end zone. When did Ben let Sanders know about his displeasure?
"Instantly," he said. "Anything could have happened. I said, 'If you're going to do that, you'd better land on your feet.' I got on him about it. It blows my mind when those guys flip into the end zone. He made a great play, and I'm proud of him. And I don't think there will be any more flipping into the end zone, because Coach Tomlin put a stop to that."
Now, the Steelers face the rival Baltimore Ravens.
"Big week," Ben said. "It's always a physical game. It's tough. It's just as taxing mentally as it is physically. After the game, your body feels like it's been in a hundred car wrecks. Usually, you just sit down--win or lose--and you take a deep sigh."
It also means Ben will face Terrell Suggs, who has had big games against the Steelers over the years.
"I always look forward to playing him," Roethlisberger said. "I know it sounds crazy, but he's one of the best. He hits hard and he does a lot of very good things on defense. I enjoy playing the best competitors like that."
As an NFL quarterback, Ben also shares his thoughts on the Houston Texans fans who cheered when Matt Schaub was injured.
"It's just so hard to understand, especially your own home crowd," Roethlisberger said. "I remember when Rashard (Mendenhall) got hurt in Cleveland, we heard some cheers. To me, that's kind of the same philosophy. It makes you sick."
