Police Investigate Fatal Hill District Shooting
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 21-year-old died after being shot multiple times in the Hill District.
Pittsburgh Police Zone Two officers responded to ShotSpotter alerts and 911 calls of multiple shots fired in the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive in Bedford Dwellings just before 10 p.m. Thursday night.
When officers arrived, they discovered an adult male in the doorway of an apartment building with multiple gunshot wounds in the chest.
The medical examiner has identified the shooting victim as 21-year-old Terrance Jones Jr.
It was an active scene as police and detectives from major crimes and other emergency crews responded.
Many who live in the public housing apartment complex had come out of their homes to see what was going on.
Jones died less than an hour after being transported to UPMC Mercy.
No arrests or suspects have been named at this time.
