Beaver Valley Mall Back On Market For Sale
PITTSBURGH, PA (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Philadelphia-based PREIT management announced Monday (July 18) that the Center Township mall is back on the market.
A spokesperson reportedly said the recent announcement by Shell Chemicals Co. to build a multi-billion dollar ethane cracker plant in neighboring Potter Township played a significant role in the decision.
Beaver County Chamber of Commerce President Jack Manning told KDKA's Maria Gabriel Tuesday that "...if it's surprising that it's back up on the market I think they clearly want to see how they can maximize the assets are there and get a good return on those assets."
Manning went on to say that because of Shell Plant "..there has been a lot of interest over the last several years.." in the Beaver County Region. Manning told Gabriel that is has been very excited that Shell is planning a 5-7 million dollar investment in the valley. He says much of the infrastructure has been under construction but it is vital for the upgrades. Here is more of Gabriel's one-on-one...
Gabriel reports it remains to be seen if a new owner will keep the mall as is or transform it into an office or apartment complex that could support those coming here to work in the natural gas industry.
