Police: Crack Cocaine, Marijuana And Guns Seized In Ambridge Drug Bust
AMBRIDGE (KDKA) -- A joint operation between the state attorney general's office, the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit and Ambridge Police netted several arrests and a large number of drugs during a raid in Ambridge Tuesday morning.
Police tell KDKA that they were serving a search warrant at a house on 14th Street when the bust happened. The building had been under surveillance for some time due to possible drug activity, investigators say.
Heavily-armed law enforcement officers dressed in gear were seen patrolling the scene and removing items from houses. People who live nearby reported hearing flashbangs during the raid.
Officials say officers seized almost 46 grams of crack cocaine, along with two guns and a small amount of marijuana. Officers arrested two people, identified as Mary Hamilton and Maurice Mosley. Police say Mosley has an extensive criminal record.
The two were taken to the Ambridge Police station. They are expected to face charges of drug possession and distribution.
Police say the drug raid was a result of numerous complaints within the neighborhood.
