Beaver Co. Couple Ties Knot In Black & Gold

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A Beaver County couple knew exactly what their wedding theme would be the day they got married.

Roger Bowser and Deanna Jefferies have been together for nine years and both are avid Steelers fans.

"They wanted to know if we were going to do something fancy, no, but we're definitely coming in our Steelers jerseys," said Jefferies.

On Thursday, the couple tied the knot in front of a judge and scores of friends and family.

Everyone in attendance wore Steelers gear, including the bride and groom.

Jefferies chose a Hines Ward jersey for the ceremony and her groom opted for a James Farrior jersey.

"Hines is my favorite," she said.

After the ceremony, a number of Terrible Towels waved in celebration and that was followed by a "Go Steelers" chant.

"We figured, if we were going to do it, we would do it for the Steelers too," said Bowser.

The couple says they didn't plan to get married on a game day, but they're thrilled it worked out that way.

They tell KDKA that they won't be going on a honeymoon right now; instead, they'll visit their daughter in summer.
