Bear Trap Near Pittsburgh Mills Mall Empty
FRAZER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- As of 9 p.m. Monday, the bear trap near Pittsburgh Mills Mall in Frazer remained empty.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has not revealed the exact location of that trap because they want people to stay away.
However, some people driving around the mall Monday night were hoping to catch a glimpse of the latest bear.
"We come out to see the bear," Rich Vuchone, of West Deer, said. "We never seen a live bear in the wild and my wife – she loves bears."
First, a small black bear walked into the Sears store Saturday night. It was eventually tranquilized and moved to Cambria County.
Then, a 300-pound bear was spotted near the mall. That's when the Game Commission moved to set a trap, using sweets as bait.
