Bear Cub Spotted In Banksville Park
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A black bear was spotted in Pittsburgh's Banksville Park.
While bears aren't usually seen in the city, wildlife officials say it's actually not uncommon in the spring and summer.
Mother bears are kicking out their 1-year-old cubs. Those cubs wander around looking for a home of their own or something to eat.
Even though the cubs aren't huge, you still want to be safe.
"Definitely don't try to get close to it," PA Wildlife Conservation Officer Gary Fujak said. "Don't try to feed it. Just keep a safe distance and don't approach it and just let it do its own thing."
If you do see the bear, call police. Wildlife officials say they'll take it from there.
