Parkway Central's 'Bathtub' Section, 10th Street Bypass Reopen To Traffic

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Cleanup continues following extensive flooding from last weekend's heavy and constant rains. Roads around the area are slowly reopening to traffic, including ones in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh.
The section of the Parkway Central, or I-376 westbound, that travels through Downtown, dubbed the Bathtub, reopened to traffic around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.
That section of road had been underwater earlier that same day, but the waters receded and after some cleanup, it was reopened.
This past weekend brought historic amounts of rain to the Pittsburgh area, forcing many streets and highways to close entirely.
Meanwhile, the 10th Street Bypass reopened to traffic on Wednesday afternoon.
The busy roadway has been closed since Sunday morning because of flooding. But the waters finally receded and crews spent Wednesday morning cleaning up the mud and debris before opening it back up.

Several other roads remain shut down across the area. From PennDOT, those include:
Armstrong County:
- Route 1035 – a lane restriction is in place in Boggs Township between Dill Road and Elkin Road due to a slide
- Route 2026, Mill Hill Road, is closed between Garretts Run Road and Iron Bridge Road in Burrell Township.
Indiana County:
- Route 1022, Sebring Road is closed between Purchase Line Road in Green Township and Route 286 in Montgomery Township
- Route 3019, Elder Ridge Road, is closed between Route 286 and Nowrytown Road in Conemaugh Township due to downed utilities
