Backyard Brawl Set For 7 p.m. On ESPN
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Pitt and West Virginia will play in prime time Nov. 25 in Morgantown, as the game has been moved to a 7 p.m. kickoff and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN.
This year marks the 104th edition of the Backyard Brawl. Pitt holds the all-time series lead with a 61-39-3 record. However, the Mountaineers have had the edge in recent seasons, winning two in a row and six of the last nine.
Both Pitt and West Virginia are off this week and will square off with a lot on the line the day after Thanksgiving. Despite both owning 3-2 Big East records, both still have a shot at the conference title and a BCS appearance.
West Virginia beat Cincinnati on Saturday, giving the Mountaineers a head-to-head edge against the conference leading Bearcats. They need to win out and see both Cincinnati and Louisville lose once to win the Big East.
Pitt, on the other hand, needs to win out and have Cincinnati lose two of its final three games and have Rutgers drop one of its last two.
