Authorities Return To Konias' Florida Hideout
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police, a detective from Ross Township, FBI agents and members of the Broward County Sheriff's Department went to the last hideout of Ken Konias to interview people late Thursday.
The armored truck driver is accused of murdering his partner, Michael Haines, and stealing more than $2 million.
His two-month run from the law came to end when a tipster told police that he was hiding out in the home in Pompano Beach, Fla.
While police said nothing about what they learned inside the home, one of the people who live there said she was questioned about Konias and where some of the missing money may be.
Shewona Flowers said she didn't know that Konias had money and that she would have turned him in had she known about the reward.
Flowers says Konias kept to himself, coming out to eat and shower and then going back to his room.
She claims the woman Konias was with the night he was arrested came back to talk with investigators.
A source says agents did not go there to search the place and did not have a search warrant. They do, however, want to learn as much as they can about Konias' habits and the people he knew.
