Authorities Probe Bank Robbery In Hopwood
HOPWOOD (KDKA) -- Authorities have released some new details as they continue to investigate a Thursday afternoon bank robbery in Fayette County
Police are looking for the man who held up the PNC Bank in the 1200-block of National Pike in Hopwood.
The robber appeared to be in his 50s, standing between five-foot-six to five-foot-eight and had a medium to heavy build.
He is described as having gray hair, a gray mustache and goatee and was wearing wire-rimmed glasses.
He was last seen wearing a zip-up black coat, a black baseball cap with some type of red or purple writing or design on the front, jeans and brown hiking-type boots.
Police say the suspect never spoke. He only handed a note to a teller indicating he had a weapon.
The teller says the robber put the money in his coat pocket and walked out.
He was last seen turning right onto Old Furnace Road and that's where he began to run.
