Jerry Sandusky In Jail On New Charges
HARRISBURG (KDKA) -- According to the Attorney General's Office, Sandusky was arrested and arraigned earlier today on the new charges.
It was just after 1 p.m. Wednesday when state police and agents from the office of the Attorney General went to Sandusky's house, arrested him and took him away in cuffs.
He wore a Penn State jacket as he was led away.
It's because of the latest allegations by two males who were once part of his Second Mile charity program.
One of them, now identified by the grand jury as Victim 9, claimed he was forced to perform oral sex in the Sandusky home.
"He stated that there were a number of bedrooms located elsewhere in the home and that at least two were not occupied. Victim 9 was always, without exception, told to sleep in the basement bedroom," according to the new grand jury presentment.
"The victim testified that on at least one occasion he screamed for help, knowing that Sandusky's wife was upstairs, but no one ever came to help him."
"Victim 10 described how Sandusky indecently touched him in the outdoor pool on campus. Sandusky would slide his hands up underneath Victim 10's swimming suit, touching his genitals...."
Sandusky's lawyer Joe Amendola was angered, saying Sandusky willingly would have turned himself in.
"And he certainly would have turned himself in today, so the question begs to be asked why would the attorney general's office decide not to tell me who they knew I was his attorney and why go to his house and take him out in handcuffs?" he said. "And I think the answer might be self-explanatory."
Sandusky has already been indicted on 40 counts of molesting eight boys over 15 years; but he has denied the charges.
Investigators say one of the alleged victims claims he first met Sandusky in 2004 when he was between the ages of 11 and 12. The other says he was referred to the charity in 1997 when he was 10-years-old.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for Dec. 13.
Sandusky remains at the Centre County Correctional Facility.
He is unable to post $250,000 cash bail.
"I think it's really well-deserved," John Blaudelt, a Penn State student, said. "And I think not only should he spend tonight in jail, he should spend much more additional time."
A lieutenant inside the jail said she couldn't say if Sandusky is in the general population or in an isolated area.
If Sandusky posts bail, he will have to wear an electronic monitoring device. He was also told he could have no contact with alleged victims or witnesses or unsupervised contact with minors.
