2 Teens Injured In Shooting After Fight Breaks Out During Basketball Game
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- An argument at a North Side basketball court led to a shooting that sent two teenagers to the hospital Tuesday evening.
A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital with three gunshot wounds; and the other victim, a 16-year-old girl was treated at Children's Hospital and released. She was grazed in the knee by a bullet.
Police say it all started around 7:30 p.m. when a fight broke out during a basketball game in West Park along Arch Street on the North Side.
During the fight, police say someone dropped a gun, and then someone else started firing another gun at that time.
Police recovered a weapon at the scene, but don't believe it was the one involved in the shooting.
The 16-year-old boy was involved in the fight when he was shot, police said. The girl was just a bystander.
Police say the suspect took off after the gunfire. They believe nearby surveillance cameras might help in the search.

A youth football team was practicing nearby when they heard the shots ring out.
"We heard some gunshots fired. We made sure our kids were cleared out inside of the school, nowhere near where anything was happening, but again, this had nothing to do with our organization by any means," Rob Collins, a coach with the youth football league, said.
"There were a lot of children here, and there comes a time when people need to understand that a way to solve an argument is not with a gun. Sadly enough, we have two people in hospital because someone didn't know how to handle their anger," Pittsburgh Police spokesperson Sonya Toler said.
Pittsburgh Police are questioning several witnesses.
The investigation continues.
