The blaze broke out just before around 2:45 a.m. on Morgantown Road in Georges Township.
State police are now identifying the victim as 71-year-old Roger Kennedy of Uniontown.
Firefighters found his body inside the home.

According to state police, the home was engulfed in flames when crews arrived at the scene.
The heat was so intense it leveled the trailer and scorched cars parked nearby. Volunteers from five area departments were needed to bring the blaze under control.

"For him to die like this, it's a terrible shame, and he's going to be sadly missed by everybody that knew him because he would do for anybody," said one of the victim's friends. "That was the apple of his eye, his grandkids his great grandkids, they all loved him, too. You can see a lot of love around here with him."
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
