PLUM CREEK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- One person is dead following a police pursuit and crash in Armstrong County on Friday evening.
According to emergency dispatchers, the chase ended when the car wrecked and flipped onto its roof along Route 422 between Kimmel School and Lawton Roads, near the Fox's Pizza, in Plum Creek Township.
It was first reported around 7:45 p.m.
Armstrong County Coroner Brian Meyers says it all started in Elderton, which is about half way between Kittanning and Indiana.

He says there was a routine traffic stop, but the driver would not pull over for Elderton Police.
The coroner says the driver was passing other vehicles to get away from the police. He estimates the chase was about a mile before the car left the road in the Shelocta area.
He says the vehicle had to be going pretty fast.
The vehicle reportedly went airborne, crashed through a wooded section by the side of the road and overturned onto its roof.
The driver was thrown from the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"I know that the subject was passing some cars on 422 here, and I know the police officer was not even that close, wasn't like right on his bumper when it happened," said Myers.
The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Albert L. Perry, of Cleveland, Ohio.
Several police departments responded to the scene, including state police and officers from Elderton and Kiski Township.
State police accident reconstruction experts are investigating.
Route 422 was open Friday night, but traffic was going very slowly in the area.
