Another Round Of Storms Bring High Winds, Hail, Downpours
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Severe weather struck the Pittsburgh area Thursday.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Cambria, Clarion, Crawford, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, Somerset, Venango and Washington counties.
Flash Flood Watch: Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Greene, Indiana, Jefferson, Lawrence and Washington.
A cold front arrived this afternoon, setting off lines of thunderstorms with damaging winds, hail and heavy downpours.
The storms are expected to be active through about 1 a.m. Then, conditions will turn humid under cloudy skies with a low near 70.
Residents are advised to have a plan for staying safe if severe weather threatens your area this afternoon and evening.
Drivers are cautioned to take it slow on the roads, and anyone outside should find shelter if a storm approaches.
