Another Round Of Storms Closing In On Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A line of powerful storms moved through the area overnight and while the sun may be shining today, there's a threat of more severe weather on the way.
According to KDKA-TV Meteorologist Dennis Bowman, a general one to three inches of rain has fallen across the area since Tuesday evening.
There were some brief flood issues in addition to numerous reports of limbs and power lines down. Unfortunately, this pattern remains stuck as waves of low pressure will be marching across the Ohio Valley in the days ahead. We really don't see the prospects of a rain free day anytime soon.
Today looks mostly cloudy and humid with rounds of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 83 degrees. Tonight, strong thunderstorms will redevelop with some with gusty winds, hail and heavy rain. The low will be near 70 degrees.
There will be additional strong storms into Thursday as a cold front rolls through the area. Thursday's high will be 81 degrees.
Periods of showers and thunderstorms will have to be watched for right on through the weekend. The good news is we needed the rain. We had been carrying a rainfall deficit for the year of over three inches and that is being made up handily.
