Amazon, Southwest Air Top Consumer Reports' Annual Naughty And Nice List

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Consumer Reports is out with its fourth annual naughty and nice list, highlighting companies with good and bad shopping policies.

Lord and Taylor and Best Buy are just two of the companies on the naughty list.

Best Buy finds itself on the list, thanks to tightening their in-store return policy. Even if you have a receipt, "a valid photo ID is also required."

"Best Buy retains the right to take information from your ID and store it in their database to track future return patterns," Consumer Reports Tod Marks says.

A store that made the "nice" list: Land's End.

"It has an unconditional guarantee. You can return any item, at any time, for any reason. And that extends to even monogrammed items," Marks says.

For travelers, Hampton Inn and Suites makes the "nice" list. Right at the front desk it promises, "if you're not satisfied, we don't expect you to pay."

Southwest Airlines is also on the company's "nice" list for not charging a fee to switch your reservation.

Amazon is on the "naughty" list this year. To get free shipping, you have to spend 35-dollars, which is up from $25 years past.

You do get free shipping with no minimum if you sign up for Amazon Prime, but it costs $79-dollars a year.
