1 Person Injured When Vehicle Collides With School Bus In Allegheny Twp.

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A driver had to be cut from a vehicle and hospitalized after colliding with a school bus in Westmoreland County on Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened around 3:45 p.m. along Hyde Park Road in Allegheny Township.
According to emergency officials, no students were on the bus at the time of the crash, but the driver of the vehicle had to be rescued.
Police say the woman's pickup truck crossed the center line and then hit the bus. Her airbag did not go off.
She was rescued from the wreckage and taken to Allegheny General Hospital. The 42-year-old was conscious. Her condition hasn't been released, but police say her injuries are not life-threatening.
The bus driver was not hurt in the impact.

Hyde Park Road had to be shut down in both directions while police investigated and crews cleared the scene. It has since reopened to traffic.
