Icy Roads Cause Multiple Accidents, Hazardous Conditions Across The Area
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Multiple crashes were reported on icy roads around the area as the first snow of the season fell.
Allegheny County says it received reports of multiple accidents "due to ice conditions."
Dorseyville Road and Saxonburg Boulevard temporarily closed to all traffic. An accident was reported earlier due to the icy conditions.

The icy conditions also shut down 57th Street and Christopher Street in Pittsburgh after a vehicle was struck.

The Glenwood Bridge also closed at one point because of ice.

After the closure was announced, Allegheny County reported a crash on the bridge.
Another crash happened on the Birmingham Bridge in the South Side. Allegheny County reported a four-vehicle crash due to the icy conditions.

A rollover crash closed Coal Valley Road between Old Clairton Road and State Route 51 until the roads were treated.

In Pine Township, a "weather-related crash" closed 910 until salt trucks got there.
"It took me about fifteen minutes just to get across the street, and then it took me an hour from my house it normally takes about twenty minutes," Tracy Mccutchan said.
Another woman ran out of gas she idled for a one and a half hours in the standstill.
Sheetz on Route 19 became a busy stop.
This musician was on his way to a show from across the county and found himself sitting.
"I was on my way here from out near Robinson, and I was in standstill traffic on Route 910 when I got the news that the gig was canceled," Mark DeMeno said.

HOV lanes were closed at Bedford Avenue at northbound I-279 until a salt truck made its way through traffic.
