Allegheny County Hazmat Team Investigates In Mt. Lebanon

MOUNT LEBANON, Pa. (KDKA)-- The Allegheny Hazmat Team was called to Mt. Lebanon this afternoon after reports of a chemical odor.

First responders arrived at the scene, between Bower Hill and Jayson Avenue, on the 400 block Marlin Drive just before 4 p.m.

First responders entered a home where they say they found the chemical smell coming from a sulfur dioxide leak.

They say the supply line of an old refigerator that was being removed by a contractor was leaking.

The leak has now been reportedly contained.

Two firefighters and a contractor were taken to a local hospital with minor inhalation irritation.
