Allegheny Co. Health Dept. Says Coronavirus-Related Death Total Climbs To 21, Total Cases Increases To 876
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Allegheny County Health Department announced 2 new Coronavirus-related deaths, as well as 19 new cases of the virus on Monday.
That brings the total number of COVID-19 cases in the county to 876, and the coronavirus-related 21 deaths.
Of the coronavirus patients in the county, 134 have been or are hospitalized.
The health department says 39 percent of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 are ages 25 to 49. Twenty-eight percent are in between ages 50 and 64. And 23 percent are 65 or older.
All 21 coronavirus patients who have died in Allegheny County have been over the age of 65.
The health department encourages residents to stop the spread by washing their hands, cleaning surfaces and staying home. If you need to go out in public, you should stay 6 feet away from people and wear a mask.
