Allegheny Co. Council Approves "Yarn Bombing" Of Warhol Bridge
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Andy Warhol Bridge is about to be "yarn-bombed."
A group called Knit the Bridge will cover the structure in vibrant-colored, knitted yarn.
Until now, no group in the world has attempted to "yarn bomb" a bridge this large.
Volunteers are already creating 580-panels to drape the length of the bridge.
You can see the work from Aug. 10 through Sept. 7.
After that, the panels will be removed, washed and donated to homeless shelters, nursing homes and animal shelters.
