Alleged Intruder Hits Washington Woman With Skillet
WASHINGTON, Pa. (KDKA) -- A 41-year-old woman in the city of Washington was shaken up, but not seriously hurt early Friday morning when she was attacked by an intruder.
The woman told KDKA-TV a burglar hit her in the head with a skillet.
This happened on Tyler Avenue – a normally quiet neighborhood.
She said she let her small dog outside just after midnight, left the porch light on and mistakenly left the front door unlocked.
She went to her bedroom and not long after falling asleep she was hit by the intruder.
The woman said she called police and found her jewelry box on the floor. Nothing was missing from it.
She was taken to a local hospital for treatment and was released.
Police are still looking for a suspect, but the victim didn't get a description because it was dark and she didn't get a good look at the intruder.
