Accidents Cause Back-Ups In City

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Two accidents in the city of Pittsburgh created some traffic back-ups this morning.

Both accidents, one on the North Side and the other on the West End, happened around 11: 30 a.m.

One person was killed when a flat-bed truck and car collided on the West End.

NewsChopper 2 flew over the scene showing an ambulance there. So far, there is no word on the identity of the victim.

The crash was causing delays, but around noon, traffic was allowed to begin turning right again onto the West End Bridge.

On the North Side, emergency officials say a car flipped and landed on its roof. It happened at East Commons near the Allegheny Center Mall.

Officials say a female in the car was taken to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment.
