A New Phone Means New Technology

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - As is the trend for cell phone users, as soon as the newest phone is released questions arise as to which company is the best.

Some look for the best phone to use for pictures, while others need immediate access to email the most, and a majority of carriers look for the phone that is the most user-friendly.

Consumers tend to compare Android software to Apple, but what about comparing the phones themselves, like the iPhone 5 to the new Samsung Galaxy S4?

The new Galaxy S4 was released in a Broadway-like production event in New York City. The S4 features a touchscreen that detects when a finger is hovering over the screen, it can automatically pauses videos if the user looks away from the screen, and a camera that can take pictures or record simultaneously from both the front and back.

Consumers can buy accessories for the phone like scales and a heart-rate monitor, a blood pressure and blood sugar monitors. These are only a few additions that users will get with the new phone.

KDKA Radio's Mike Pintek wanted to dig deeper into the difference between the iPhone and the new Galaxy. For an expert in the area of technology he turned to gadget-guy, Dr. Frank Viggiano, a professor emeritus and TV freelance/consultant.

Dr. Frank helped answer many of Mike's concerns regarding the difference between phones. He also eased the worries of a blind caller who is in need of a phone that can be easy for him to use.

"I'm blind and I've been waiting for such a phone that can make my life easier," explained the caller.
