Man Charged With Kidnapping After Beaver Falls Child Abduction

BEAVER FALLS (KDKA) -- A baby boy is back with his family and a child abduction emergency is over after the child was taken from his grandmother's home in Beaver County Thursday evening by a man claiming to be his father.

Carter Speelman, 9-months-old, is back safe with his mom after an Amber Alert was issued for him Thursday night.

Alexander Frazier, 27 will be charged with kidnapping and interfering with the custody of a child.

Police say Frazier took the baby from the grandmother's home in Beaver Falls.

He apparently grabbed the boy when the mom left the room for a second, according to police.

Police say Frazier claims to be the baby's father, but he does not have custody.

Frazier kept in contact with officers the whole time, according to police, by repeatedly calling them.

Eventually, officers convinced Frazier to turn himself in.

His brother brought him and the baby to the police station, according to police, where the mother picked up the child.

Carter Speelman was not hurt.
