8 Injured In Shenango Township Crash
SHENANGO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A minivan carrying six kids, including a 7-week-old baby, and two adults crashed in Shenango Township, Lawrence County.
Anthony Lombardo, 36, and 31-year-old Brandy Lombardi are both listed in critical condition at UPMC Presbyterian.
The six children, including the baby, were initially taken to hospitals in New Castle and Ellwood City.
A woman who was taking a group of boys to a baseball game stumbled into the crash and they moved into action, pulling victims from crash.
"We flew over and started getting the kids out of the vehicle," said Leslie Celli. "My son hands me what I thought was a baby doll and then I realized it was a baby, and I was like, 'Give me the baby! Give me the baby!'"
The accident happened as the van was on a ramp entering 422. State Police say the driver lost control on the curve and the minivan crashed into a guardrail, rolling down over a hill. The two adults were ejected from the vehicle.
"It was not a pretty sight," said Celli.
