69-Year-Old Woman Arrested For Attempted Bank Robbery
MT. PLEASANT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police arrested a 69-year-old woman who attempted to rob a bank Thursday.
State police say that shortly before 1 p.m., the panic alarm at a First Niagara Bank in Mt. Pleasant Township went off. Police were told that a woman pulled up to the drive-through window and handed the bank teller a note saying that the woman's family and grandchildren were being held hostage, and they would be killed if the bank didn't give her money. The woman drove off before taking any money, however.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a silver Subaru Forester, and two state troopers saw a vehicle matching that description in the area of the robbery just four minutes after the incident was reported. They stopped the vehicle and, after further investigation, arrested 69-year-old Mary Clark for the attempted robbery.
Clark is being held at the Westmoreland County Prison.
