6 Killed In Head-On Crash In Kane, Pa.
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a head-on collision in Kane left six people dead and two injured.
It happened just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday on State Route 219 in Hamilton Township, McKean County.
Police say 36-year-old Kathy Douglas was driving a car carrying three children ages 6, 10 and 12.
For an unknown reason, police say Douglas' car crossed the double lines into oncoming traffic and hit another car head on.
All four people in the second car were killed, including 62-year-old Gary Beimel, 54-year-old David Cuneo, 55-year-old Elaine Beimel and 81-year-old Florence Donachy. All four were from St. Mary's, Pa.
Douglas and the 10-year-old in her car were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The 6-year-old and 12-year-old passengers were declared dead at the scene.
Police say Route 219 was closed for almost seven hours as they cleaned up the scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash. No word on if the driver will face any charges.
