A lottery ticket worth a whopping $5 million was sold in Allegheny County.

Someone bought a winning Five Million Fabulous Fortune ticket from Chocolate & Chances at PPG Place in Downtown Pittsburgh. The store gets a $10,000 bonus for selling the scratch-off.

The Pennsylvania Lottery says scratch-offs are distributed at random, so it's not known where the winning tickets are until they're sold. The lottery says it only learns a winning ticket was bought after a prize is claimed.

It's the Pittsburgh area's second big winning ticket this week. On Monday, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced a jackpot-winning Match 6 Lotto ticket worth $3.2 million was sold at the Penncraft Market in East Millsboro, Fayette County.

The Pennsylvania Lottery says since it began selling tickets in 1972, it has contributed more than $36 billion to programs that benefit older residents, like tax and rent rebates, transportation and care services.
