4 Schools Going Back To Normal Schedule Despite Continued Closure Of Liberty Bridge
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The Liberty Bridge may still be shut down following a fire earlier this month, but some Pittsburgh Public Schools are going back to their normal schedule.
District officials say four of the seven schools that adjusted their start and end times because of the closure will go back to normal, starting Monday, Sept. 26.
Those schools are:
- Pittsburgh Allderdice High School
- Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12
- Pittsburgh Obama 6-12
- Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12
Officials say school location, feeder patterns and the increased use of Port Authority bus passes has prompted them to go back to the original schedule for those four schools.
Three other schools will continue with the adjusted 7:11 a.m. start time:
- Pittsburgh Carrick High School
- Pittsburgh Brashear High School
- Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy 6-12
In a press release, district Superintendent Dr. Anthony Hamlet said: "The adjustments we have taken related to start times have allowed us to ensure reliable transportation service to our youngest students. We will continue to look for potential route adjustments in an effort to move schools back to their normal start times."

Following the fire, the district changed the schedule so seven schools started and ended their day approximately 25 minutes earlier.
