3 Struck By Car On South Side
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Three people were injured when they were struck by a car Friday night on Pittsburgh's South Side.
The accident happened at the corner of East Carson Street and South 23rd Street.
One of the injured was a valet attendant at the nearby Mallorca restaurant. Others suffered more serious injuries.
"According to my father, he went to go give a ticket... like her car back, and he stepped to the side and as soon as she put her foot on the pedal, she backed up 30 miles, 40 mile per hour," said the daughter of one of the victims. "And my dad and this other young male were standing right next to the car, like the entrance; and she backed up. She hit against the male but my dad pushed away."
"The other guy, his legs got run over," she added. "And then when she kept going backwards, there was a young woman standing on the end and she also got ran over."
Officials say the car that hit them did stop.
Police were questioning the female driver at scene.
The accident forced police to close East Carson Street in both directions from the Birmingham Bridge to South 24th Street.
