3 Killed In Indiana County Accident
SOUTH MAHONING TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Three people were killed in an early Sunday morning crash in Indiana County.
According to police, a pickup truck crashed into a small pond off McMillan Road in South Mahoning Township around 12:28 a.m.
The pond was only about 4 feet deep.
Witnesses said the truck overturned in the water and trapped the three people inside.
Witnesses tried to get the victims out, but were unable to do so. Their actions were described as "heroic" as the witnesses waded through the waist-deep water and tried to retrieve the men trapped inside. At one point, they even tried to tow the truck out of the pond, but the bumper broke in the process.
The victims have been identified as Sean Johnathan Titus, 20, Zane Michael McMillen, 19, and Cody Allen Brink Douglas, 18, all of Kittanning.
Titus was driving the vehicle and the coroner's office suspects alcohol played a role in the accident, but toxicology reports are pending.
