3 Dead, 1 Injured In Head-On Crash In Washington Co.
BURGETTSTOWN (KDKA) -- Three people were killed and one person was injured Friday morning in a two-vehicle, head-on crash in Washington County.
Aaron River Herriot, 18, of Bulger and John Alouise, 62, and Debra Alouise, 51, both of Burgettstown, all died as a result of multiple blunt force trauma.
Authorities say the car and van collided at 7:45 a.m. on Joffre Bulger Road, between Burgettstown and Midway, in Smith Township.
"We had a vehicle that was going at a high-rate of speed, crossed the center line, hit another vehicle, which had three passengers in that vehicle," said Chief Bernie LaRue, of the Smith Township Police Department. "Two were deceased; also, the driver of the other vehicle was deceased."
Those killed in the van have been identified as 60-year-old John Alouise and his wife, Debbie. Their son, Scott, was flown to Allegheny General Hospital. Police say his arm was injured.
The family from Midway was headed to Westminster College to pick up their daughter.
Aaron Herriott, 18, was driving the red Mustang that police say cross the center line.
He was a senior at Burgettstown High School and was supposed to go to the prom tonight.
Police say he was going at approximately 70 miles an hour. They found a skid mark on the road that measured 160 feet long.
Authorities say he may have been late for school this morning. They say he was due at school at the same time the crash happened.
