3 Arrested After South Side Police Chase
SOUTH SIDE (KDKA) – Three people were arrested early Thursday morning after a brief police chase ended on the South Side.
According to investigators, the incident began near the intersection of Wagner and Mountain Avenue near St. Clair Village around 1 a.m.
Officers noticed a Ford Ranger, which was reported as stolen. The truck took off and police gave chase, but the pickup didn't get far.
Pittsburgh Police deployed spike strips at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Jonquil Street.
Two people were taken into custody when the pickup was disabled, but one suspect took off into the woods on foot.
He must of had a cell phone because he called someone for a lift.
Meanwhile, police found a semi-automatic pistol in the back of the Ford pickup truck. A man and woman in the truck were detained.
Police got word the suspect on the run may have tried to get into 2641 18th Street.
However, he wasn't there, but the car he was in with the female who picked him up was found and surrounded near the intersection of 18th and Quarry Streets.
The male suspect was taken into custody and another gun was allegedly found in the car.
Charges and identities of all involved have not been released at this time.
