3 Arrested After New Brighton Home Invasion
NEW BRIGHTON (KDKA)-- Three men are facing charges after a home invasion in New Brighton.
The incident happened early Friday morning at an apartment building in the 1300 block of Third Avenue.
Armed with guns, police say the trio forced their way into the apartment and robbed those inside at gunpoint.
Investigators say one of the men struck a resident in the head with the butt of a shotgun.
The suspects have been identified as 31-year-old Jason Smith, 30-year-old Jamaal Newman, and 29-year-old Antwon Dillard.
When police arrived, two of the suspects were still inside and pointed guns at them.
When officers took cover, the suspects fled on foot.
Police caught up with Smith after a foot chase and later arrested Newman and Dillard at Dillard's home in Rochester Township.
All three have been charged with robbery, burglary, unlawful restraint, aggravated assault and making terroristic threats. They have been placed in the Beaver County Jail.
