2016 Best Sports Cities: Pittsburgh Ranked Near Top
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – This isn't going to come as a shock to Pittsburghers, the city has been ranked one of the best sports cities in the nation.
WalletHub compared 423 cities across more than 50 metrics related to the five largest sports in the U.S.
When the combined scores for football, basketball, baseball, hockey and soccer were combined, Pittsburgh ranked third on the list.
New York came in first on the list, followed by Boston at number 2.
Los Angeles and Chicago rounded out the top 5.
When it comes to football, WalletHub says Pittsburgh ranks 3rd on the list, behind Green Bay, and Clemson.
When it comes to baseball, the Burgh came in 9th in the top 10.
Pittsburgh fared much better when it came to hockey, ranking 3rd again. Detroit and Boston were the only two cities that ranked higher.
Pittsburgh didn't make the top 10 list for basketball or soccer.
