2-Year-Old Millvale Boy Released From Hospital

MILLVALE (KDKA) -- A 2-year-old boy is now home from the hospital after he was injured by a car in Millvale.

Logan Sayers walked into traffic around 6:30 p.m. Sunday on North Avenue where he was apparently struck by a car which didn't stop.

Logan's father, Jared Sayers, says they were just getting into their cars to go to relatives' homes.

"And I thought they had Logan or his mom had him," he said. "I don't know. I had my daughter and my stepson and I walked across the street and heard the thump."

Kids often play in the area and there is an ice cream shop nearby. The speed limit is 25 mph which neighbors say is often ignored. The accident is not surprising to some.

"I knew it was coming," Shana Daly, a neighbor, said. "I knew it was going to end up happening right here. Right down here is where all the kids are all the time and I knew it was going to end up happening."

Logan's father is upset the driver didn't stop.

"You don't pull away like that. And even if it was someone else's fault or whatever, you still stop," Sayers said.

Logan has a bruise on the side of his head. It's likely he was hit by the side mirror of the vehicle.

Police are looking for a blue Hyundai driven by a white male. Police say it's possible the driver didn't know that he hit someone, but they still want to speak to him.
