2 Teens Recovering After Separate Shooting In Homewood, Knoxville
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Two teenagers are recovering in the hospital this Thanksgiving after overnight shootings just minutes apart in different Pittsburgh neighborhoods.
A 17-year-old boy was shot in Knoxville around 7:25 p.m. Wednesday; then moments later, a 19-year-old was wounded by gunfire in Homewood.
Walking on Kelly Street in Homewood on Thursday with her three children, Yashika Pryor told KDKA-TV: "It's just sad that our generation is just shooting everybody up. I'm from Virginia, and I think it was a big mistake for me to come up here. [The violence] makes me want to go home."
Nearby, there were signs posted on lawns, saying "Stop the Shootings."
In Knoxville, meanwhile, a woman who did want to be identified said she was so used to hearing gunfire that Wednesday night's shooting didn't scare her.
"I wanted to take precautions myself, so I didn't get hit by any bullets," she added though.
Police say no one has been arrested in either of the Thanksgiving Eve shootings.
