2 PSU Administrators Step Down, Face Arraignment
HARRISBURG (KDKA) - Two high-ranking Penn State University administrators have stepped down and are headed to court.
They are accused of lying to a grand jury to cover up a child abuse case involving a former football coach.
Prosecutors said former Penn State defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky targeted young boys and assaulted them.
Officials said several people in the administration knew about it, but they did not follow the proper procedures on reporting the alleged incidents to police.
There have been many ripples in the sea of controversy surrounding Sandusky's arrest.
He is facing 40 criminal counts, including allegations that he used the Second Mile organization to find and abuse eight young boys.

Many of the alleged events happened at Penn State facilities.
After an emergency meeting of Penn State's Trustee Board Executive Committee Sunday night, Athletic Director Timothy Curley was placed on administrative leave.
Senior Vice President for Finance and Business, Gary Schultz retired following the meeting. Schultz was also was in charge of campus police.
Both men are facing perjury charges in the case.
Head coach Joe Paterno released a statement saying, "If the allegations against Sandusky are true, we all were fooled."
A graduate assistant witnessed Sandusky in the showers with what appeared to be a 10-year-old boy. The graduate assistant then alerted Paterno to the incident, which he reported to Curley.
During a press conference Monday afternoon, Attorney General Linda Kelly said Paterno was required to report the information to his superiors, which he did.
Kelly would not say the same about Penn State President Graham Spanier, but would only say the investigation is ongoing.
Penn State released a statement of their own saying they will convene a task force using external legal counsel to conduct an independent review of the case. They will also be reviewing police reporting protocols.
"The board, along with the entire Penn State family, is shocked and saddened by the allegations involving former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky," Chairman Steve Garban said in the statement. "Under no circumstances does the University tolerate behavior that would put children at risk, and we are deeply troubled."
Curley and Schultz are expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon.
According to Kelly, a school district in Clinton County, where one of the victims went to school, set the wheels in motion for this investigation because they alerted law enforcement.
