2 Killed In Washington Co. Crash, 2 More Injured
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An overnight crash left two people dead and two others in injured.
It happened along State Route 18 in Morris Township, Washington County.
Police say 46-year-old Shari Cox of Prosperity crossed the center line and hit an SUV. Cox died at the scene.
"Just the most horrible explosion and it must have been when the cars hit," said Edith Conklin, a witness who lives nearby.
"We heard the big sound and I went out on the porch, it was pitch dark, all I could see was one little red light," added Gene Conklin, another witness.
The driver of the SUV, 28-year-old Stephen Breese of Washington, died at Washington Hospital.
"He was just a great person, probably one of the most well liked kids on the team," said Aaron Conklin, Breese's former wrestling coach.
Two other people in Breese's vehicle were flown to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Katherine Breese, 30, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment, and an 8-month-old girl in the backseat was taken to Children's Hospital.
Meanwhile, Cox's friend, Courtney Houston-Haller, posted a message to Facebook: "Last night, God took an angel from our family, she was the type of woman that could walk into anywhere at any moment and no matter how down you felt she lifted your spirit…"
