McKEESPORT, Pa. (KDKA) --- Allegheny County Police say two people were killed and a third was wounded in a shooting early Friday morning in McKeesport.

Police say officers were first called to the 400 block of Gross Street around 3:30 a.m.

"I heard four gunshots. There was one, then a pause and three more," said neighbor Robert Harff. "A couple seconds later, I saw two people running down between the houses."

Police say officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two females were pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeromie Anderson said he was watching the morning news when he heard about the shootings inside the house he grew up in. He identified the victims as his mother, Kimberly Lesko, and his aunt, Melodie Robb.

He says his mother wasn't even suppose to be in the house, which his aunt now owns.

"I live across the street from my mom and she ended up staying here because she wanted to get some rest. She went to the hospital yesterday. She cut her arm. When she got out of [UPMC Presbyterian Hospital], my aunt picked her up. She stayed here and this transpired," he said.

A man person was also shot, but he is listed in critical but stable condition at a local hospital. He has not been identified.

According to Anderson, his aunt's husband was also in the house in another bedroom, but was not hurt.

The two women were found in the living room, while the man was in a bedroom.

Allegheny County Police are asking for the public's help.

"At this point, we are early in the investigation. We are asking for anybody who heard of saw anything in the area of Gross Street or Atlanta Avenue to call McKeesport Police or county police," Lt. Andrew Schurman said.

The family is making that same plea.

"If you know my mom, if you know something, if you seen something, tell somebody. They didn't deserve this. We don't have no insurance, my mom didn't have insurance, my aunt didn't. I work paycheck to paycheck. I can't do anything," Anderson said.

Police say they believe the motive may have been robbery. Lesko and Robb reportedly cashed a check late Thursday night and that may have prompted the shooting.

Anderson has set up a GoFundMe to raise money for his mother's and his aunt's funerals. Click here to donate.
