2 Arrested In North Side Drug Bust
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two people were arrested as part of a drug bust Friday afternoon on the North Side.
According to police, officers observed what they believed to be a drug deal near the intersection of Rhine Street and Haslage Avenue around 4 p.m.
Officers noticed a man get out of a Chevrolet Cobalt, walk toward a Ford Explorer and get in the back seat.
Shortly after, the man exited the vehicle and walked back to his car.
At that time, officers conducted a traffic stop with the Explorer. Officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle and had both men inside get out.
A search of the vehicle uncovered several bags of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
One of the men, James Snyder, 22, of the North Side, had additional drugs in a home where he lived with his grandmother.
A search of the home uncovered more bags of marijuana, two guns, three boxes of ammunition and $525 in cash.
Snyder was taken to the Allegheny County Jail and is facing a list of charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and firearms violations.
The other man in the Explorer has been identified as 21-year-old Nicholas Smith. Smith was also taken to the Allegheny County Jail and is facing possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver charges.
The man in the Cobalt has been identified as Shawn Ferraccio, 38, of Apollo. He is facing a summons for possession of a small amount of marijuana.
