3rd Ross Township Carjacking Suspect Sought
ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Two people have been arrested and charged and a third suspect is still at large following a carjacking in Ross Township.
Saahir Allen-Major, 20, of Homestead and 22-year-old Ronika Carter, of Hazelwood, are facing a list of charges, including robbery, criminal conspiracy and firearms violations.
Police are getting a warrant to arrest 22-year-old Niko Dawson on similar charges. He lives in McKeesport, but is originally from the North Side.
The victim told police he was approached by two men and a woman who were armed outside his apartment building off of Perry Highway. They stole his car and drove off.
"Officers in the area shortly afterward observed the car on Perrysville Avenue," Ross Township Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp said. "Then, they followed and attempted to stop the car."
The suspects crashed the car and ran away before officers caught up with them. A police dog searched the woods along Portman Street in Perry Hilltop. According to the criminal complaint, police found two loaded guns in the woods.
Police are unable to determine if the suspects knew the victim.
