1 Dead In Fayette Co. Shooting
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) – One man was shot and killed Sunday morning in Fayette County.
According to emergency dispatchers, the shooting happened outside of a Pershing Court parking lot in Uniontown around 4:42 a.m.
The suspect has been identified as 27-year-old Kurtavius Smith. He has been arrested and is now facing charges.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the victim has been identified as 28-year-old Marlin Crawford.
Police say the shooting was over a woman.
"There was a dispute, an ongoing dispute, between the suspect and the victim, which apparently led up to a fight just prior to the shooting happening," said Det. Donald Gmitter, of Uniontown Police.
Crawford reportedly had a card and flowers with him when he was killed.
Smith is also charged with carrying a firearm without a license.
