1 Injured During North Fayette Home Invasion

NORTH FAYETTE (KDKA) -- A violent home invasion in North Fayette is under investigation.

The incident happened on Crawford Street. Police say three men broke into the home.

"We had three African American males enter the house, strike the victim - the resident on the head in an attempt to take some items from the residence," said Lt. Mike Hamm, of the North Fayette Police.

Police say the three suspects had a gun and used it.

"They hit him several times on the head," said Lt. Hamm. "He did receive several stitches. They pistol whipped him with the firearm they had. The victim was struck hard enough it broke pieces off the firearm."

As it turns out, the victim's parents were also in the house when the home invasion took place. They were not hurt.

Meanwhile, it doesn't look like the suspects found what they were after.

"They did search the house, searching for some items, they ended up leaving without anything," Lt. Hamm said.

The man who was beaten by the suspect with the gun is going to be okay. He had cuts and bruises.
