1 Dead After Crash In Derry Township
DERRY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - One person is dead following an accident Wednesday in Westmoreland County.
The crash happened on Route 217 in Derry Township around 11:30 a.m.
Authorities have not yet identified the victim.
According to state police, the unidentified driver was heading northbound and crossed the center line while rounding a curve. The car then collided with a tow truck heading in the opposite direction.
Investigators say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma.
The driver of the tow truck, identified as James Drennen, of Homer City, was not injured in the crash.
